Inspirational Sound meets The Rootsman Up North is a 6 track dub album bringing together 2 generations of dub reggae producers from the city of Bradford, UK. The tracks are heavyweight deconstructed dub versions of original productions from the collaboration between Inspirational Sound and The Rootsman. Each track takes its title from one of Bradford's legendary reggae nightspots.The title pays homage to the great 'King Tubbys meets Rockers Up Town'.

The Rootsman is a DJ and musician based in Bradford, UK. In 1985 he started selecting on local sound systems before progressing to pirate radio. In 1991 he founded the legendary ‘Dub Me Crazy’ club nights. In this period he started his label, Third Eye Music. He released numerous albums and singles, often collaborating with reggae’s biggest names.

The collaboration between Inspirational Sound and The Rootsman began in late 2015. 2016 saw the release of their single 'Refugees' with the great Macka B on vocals. Prior to this project, The Rootsman had all but retired from the music scene having not set foot in a studio for over 11 years. This project brings together two generations of the dub reggae scene from the city of Bradford to serve up some authentic West Yorkshire heavyweight sound system dub.
